The Cyberitas PDF Engine is designed to be a complete business publishing and marketing materials solution. It's easier than ever to design, create and publish professional marketing and communication materials in-house. The PDF Engine works with conventional publishing applications, giving template designers the freedom to design and create materials within the applications (Word, Illustrator, etc.) they are accustomed to using. End users only need a web browser to complete the design and content. Our PDF Engine includes built-in tools that auto format content, resize or rotate images (including placement of images at angles), perform automatic pagination with master pages and provide other capabilities to help you make the most of your PDF.
1-2-3 PDF - The Cyberitas PDF Engine is a 3-step system to generate high-resolution, print-ready documents. Step 1, a designer builds a template using their favorite graphic design program (no limitations!) and clicks "Print". Step 2, the designer or someone familiar with the document associates areas of the document with data sources. This is similar to a "mail merge" application, only the PDF Engine lets you specify images, rich text, scaling and much, much more. Step 3, The end user fills in the data fields via our web application, or from any source that can write a standards-compliant XML document to pass to the PDF Engine.
Rich Content Controls The PDF Engine provides you with many formatting options for each area of the template that should be filled in with a data source. Just a few of these options include:
No Page Limits - Designs can span pages, chapters, even documents. With the ability to embed pre-built PDFs at any point into a dynamically created document, modify content (like page numbers, or watermarking) at runtime, and an unlimited number of templates in a document, every PDF built can have its own look and feel.
Cluster Aware - High-volume applications can take advantage of the cluster-aware PDF Engine's server which allows you to build PDFs on remote machines and communicate via standard TCP/IP interfaces. Client APIs are available for popular languages and runtime environments.
Designer Friendly - Templates are so simple to create, web or application programmers do not need to be involved. The designer has full control of the template, the field placement and more. Each template supports "master pages," which lets you specify a "first page," "left page" and "right page" template in addition to the "default" template for documents that support automatic pagination. This is a similar concept to all popular design programs such as Quark Express, Microsoft Publisher, etc. In fact, the master pages designed in these programs can be used as your templates for our PDF Engine!
